Melrose is an unsuspecting spot that is a MUST visit! They offer everything from delicious coffee & pastries daily, to cocktails & karaoke late nights! The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is incredible! It's a huge space with downstairs lounge seating and upstairs bar seating. There is a huge flower wall that adds a vibrant touch to the dark & cozy vibes all around! Highly recommend checking out this local downtown spot!

I was coming to an event next door at the park and decided to grab a coffee drink at the coffee shop near by and was blown away by the spacious interior and unique design and photo backdrop opportunity. I have never seen a two level coffee shop with a lounge feel. Once you walk the stairs upstairs to order your drink, you see a row of velvet chaired two person tables and a counter that extends the width of the space. What made the space more unique is they don't just sell coffee, tea and pastries but cocktails, mocktails and wines displayed on the counter, back counter, and menu's. They also have DJ hosted parties on various dates as well as the ability to rent the place for private events. While there, I ordered the Cubano Cafe con Leche over ice and it tasted delicious, the size of the drink was portionate to the cost. I spoke with the younger guy who made my coffee drink, he told me it was a family run business and they opened about 10 months ago. I highly recommend you come check this place out while working or visiting the park or museum near by and even consider renting this place for your private event. I will definitely share with my friends about this place and come back in the future to try more drinks and food.

amazing place for after work cocktails 10 out of 10 i would highly recommend stoping in They specialize in coffee and top end alcohol drinks

New coffee + cocktail spot in downtown Greensboro. I came for coffee but am excited to return for a drink. The interior is well decorated and would be a great place for a girls night out. They do have a dress code for the evenings, so make sure to check before going! The coffee was good and the Croissantwich was standard for a coffee shop. I planned on working here and enjoying my coffee, but they did not have any outlets accessible for charging my laptop.

I love this place! I really love the decor, how spacious it is inside and, of course, the coffee and pastries. The service is also fantastic. I've had a couple of their specialty lattes and both were so good! My hubby and I just came here for a special event the other night. We were an hour early, but the owners let us in and treated us like VIPs. We had such a great time. The night we went there was a DJ so we got to dance, too. It was nice to have a place to dance and not be in a club atmosphere. I highly recommend this place either to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or a fun night out!

Second trip to the lounge, tried the Vanilla Cinnamon Dolce latte and got my Almond Danish again. It was tasty but the Lavender Blueberry Latte is still my favorite. Great and quick service and comfy seating.

Love coming here to get my daily dose of coffee. Employees are great and so welcoming. Always clean, always inviting, this coffee shop is ideal for many occasions.

Melrose is a whole vibe! I love the setup! Soft lighting and plush couches! The owners are from Cali, and I talked to Nevin who was super nice! The bartenders were awesome and the drinks were on point! On Thursdays wine and margaritas are $7! The chicken skewers were tender and juicy. Three skewers was $10. Mr. Woodard played live music on his guitar! Come to find out we are from the same small town in Eastern NC! I will be coming back soon!

Glad to have found this place as I had heard a lot about it but hadn't taken the time out to look it up. Happened to be walking by on a recent weekend morning and popped in for mimosas. The decor had been previously described to me as "moody" and I think that words fits it pretty well. It's interesting but even if it isn't your taste it doesn't impact the experience really. Service was friendly. Prices were seemed a little high at first but we found the portion was very good so the overall value was great.

Hospitality 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Drinks 10/10 Food N/A as I didn't order food, but I bet it'll be 10/10 A coffee shop like no other. Going forward this will set the standard for me for more reasons than one. Near the corner of E. Friendly Ave. and N. Church St. you will find black, glass doors which open to this newly opened shop. Once I walked through their doors, I was greeted with waves and smiles from the workers. You'll ask yourself if you stepped into the right place because the decor will make you think you walked into a restaurant. If you take a few steps up their stairs, you'll find a display of baked goods and your drink options. I ordered a 12 oz pumpkin latte with oat milk. There are no designs in the coffee and for me that isn't a make it or break it. I'll take quality of taste over latte art, and Melrose did not disappoint. I have no idea where they order their coffee from or how they create their recipes but I guarantee you their quality is greater than any coffee I've had in the Greensboro area. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't tired until I remembered I stopped at Melrose for a meeting and grabbed a coffee. I'm literally up past midnight, writing this review because I'm not tired and amazed at the amount of energy I have. I plan to come back here to try their bites (food) next time and take photos of my order and their offerings. I only caught video of the decor as my meeting ran me until the end of their closing time which was 5pm. I'd recommend this as a great spot for a coffee date, friend date, and work spot(they have wifi). FYI: 1)I heard they'll start serving wine next month. 2)If you use Google maps to get here it will have you park on E. Friendly. The entrance to the store is on N. Church St. or the same side of the street of the Downtown Public Library.
